Gastroenterology

Introduction

Gastroenterology department deals with common gastroenterological disorders including dyspepsia, peptic ulcers, GI bleed, pancreatic diseases, GI malignancies and many more. Our department regularly performs endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP and various other endoscopic interventions including variceal ligation, vascular clip application, argon plasma coagulation, achalasia balloon dilatation, CRE dilatation, PEG tube insertion, esophageal stenting etc. We also perform transient 2D elastography, fibrotouch, and high resolution manometry. We have 30 bedded inpatient ward that is run by team of experts in gastroenterology.

The department runs DM program in Medical Gastroenterology. Currently there are 3 batches of DM residents working in the department.
